During a recent visit to our factory in Nzihi ward, Deputy Minister in the Vice President’s Office for Union and Environment, Khamis Hamza Khamis, highlighted the critical need for public education to reduce deforestation and encourage the adoption of alternative energy sources.
He emphasized the importance of shifting from traditional charcoal and firewood to more sustainable options like white charcoal. “We must invest in educating the public on the benefits of alternative energy sources,” said Deputy Minister Khamis. “Transitioning from firewood and traditional charcoal to white charcoal is crucial for protecting both our health and the environment.” 🌳💡
Our white charcoal project represents a significant investment of over 12 billion TZS and has already created over 100 formal jobs and more than 500 informal jobs in the Iringa region. This initiative not only provides sustainable energy but also supports local communities through job creation.
